Lazio have moved swiftly to secure a replacement for the outgoing Matteo Guendouzi, reaching an agreement to sign Kenneth Taylor from Ajax.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, the Biancocelesti have identified the 23-year-old Dutchman as the ideal profile to bolster their midfield following Guendouzi’s €30 million move to Fenerbahçe.
Notably, the deal for Taylor is in its final stages, with the financial parameters already established. Lazio will pay a total package of €18 million to the Eredivisie side, structured as €15 million in a fixed fee plus €3 million in bonuses (some of which are reportedly difficult to achieve).
Furthermore, the player has agreed to personal terms that will see him earn slightly less than €2 million per season in the capital.
Indeed, Taylor represents a significant investment in youth for Claudio Lotito, as the 2002-born midfielder brings both Champions League experience and tactical versatility to Maurizio Sarri’s squad. The operation is described as being in the “home stretch,” with the player expected to arrive in Rome shortly to undergo medical examinations and finalize the transfer.
Consequently, by reinvesting a portion of the Guendouzi windfall into one of the most promising players in Dutch football, Lazio aim to maintain their competitive edge in the race for European spots. The swift nature of the negotiation underscores the club’s determination to avoid a midfield vacuum during the crucial second half of the season.
