Having already lost Ivan Provedel for the season, Lazio are bracing themselves after Edoardo Motta pulled out of the Italy Under-21 squad with an injury.
The Biancocelesti had signed 21-year-old Motta in January from Reggiana as their reserve goalkeeper, but were not expecting to be so reliant on him already.
So when Provedel was ruled out for the rest of the season by a serious injury, he was thrown in at the deep end for his Serie A debut.

Now he too might be out of action after leaving the Italy Under-21 camp with a fresh injury concern.
There is no confirmation of what exactly Motta is suffering from, but if he is not available for next weekend’s Serie A match against Parma, then they’ll have to look to third-choice Alessio Furlanetto, whose only experience is in Serie C.
Motta was released by the Azzurrini along with Frosinone striker Antonio Raimondo following the 4-0 victory over North Macedonia.
They were replaced in the group by Spezia goalkeeper Diego Mascardi and Juve Stabia forward Alvin Okoro, the latter promoted from the Under-20 team.
Italy’s Under-21 side is back in action on Tuesday March 31 against Sweden for the European Championship qualifiers.
