Lazio ‘to make progress’ on Danilho Doekhi, ‘to resume’ Sergi Dominguez talks, eye Diogo Leite | OneFootball

Lazio are advancing talks over Danilho Doekhi and intend to reopen negotiations for Sergi Dominguez as they reshape their defence. According to The Laziali, progress has been encouraging and two additions are being considered.

Doekhi, 28, is a free agent after leaving Union Berlin, and discussions with the centre-back have moved forward. There is confidence a deal could be wrapped up very soon.

With Mario Gila sold to AC Milan and Alessio Romagnoli finalising a move to Al-Sadd, Lazio may need two centre-backs.

Dominguez remains the priority. Sporting director Angelo Fabiani left Croatia last week without an agreement with Dinamo Zagreb, yet optimism endures despite suggestions talks had collapsed. Discussions could resume as soon as Monday, with the Croatian champions valuing the 21-year-old at €15 million, a sum Lazio hope to reach via a lower fee or a structured formula.

Interest in Diogo Leite could be revived. The 27-year-old also departed Union Berlin at season’s end and is available, though Lazio stepped back in January after an injury despite an agreement in principle with his camp. Leite was close to joining Al-Dirayah but has turned the Saudi club down, potentially reopening the door in Rome.
