For AC Milan, there can be no doubt that the season gone was a difficult one. Of course, it was tough for everyone, and everyone faced higher levels of criticism, but being the goalkeeper, maybe Maignan received the most. However, for France, it seems he has returned to his old self.

As good as France are, they are susceptible to shots, and there is no point in having Kylian Mbappe to score goals if you concede just as many. However, this is not the case for the Blues, given they have one of, if not the best goalkeepers in world football, currently.

Form is temporary, class is permanent, and Maignan is an exceptional representation of an old-school cliche. For Milan, it was a poor season. He was, perhaps, more prone to mistakes that may have been costly.

However, if a bid arrived tomorrow and there were no financial implications of the decision, the reaction would be largely the same. Don’t. The same can be said for France, albeit in a different context.

As Le Figaro (via Milan News) writes, Maignan displays charisma and elegance for the National Team and has been massively impactful on the team so far in this tournament. With the French stars being favourites for the tournament if Maignan is at his best, their chances are high.
