Leao in contention for Napoli opportunity but Allegri still has decision to make | OneFootball

Reports on Wednesday confirm that Rafael Leao has recovered from his recent calf injury, but Massimiliano Allegri still needs to decide whether the Portugal international will be risked against Napoli in Serie A this weekend.

Leao has not yet featured in Serie A this season after picking up an injury during the first half of Milan’s 2-0 win over Bari in the first round of the Coppa Italia in August.

The Rossoneri star suffered an injury to his calf, and has since missed over a month of action at the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

According to updates from Sky Sport Italia, Leao has recovered from his calf injury from a medical point of view, but his physical condition and fitness will need to be assessed before Milan take on Napoli in a high-profile Serie A clash on Sunday evening.

According to the latest update, Leao is likely to be named among the substitutes for the Milan-Napoli clash in San Siro, although it remains to be seen whether he will be brought on, or whether Santiago Gimenez, Christian Pulisic and Christopher Nkunku will be enough for Allegri.

Milan-Napoli will kick off at 19.45 on Sunday evening.
