According to NY Times, Leeds United have verbally agreed a £20m deal with Brighton & Hove Albion for Pascal Struijk, with terms settled on Saturday and a formal offer to follow.

The Athletic reported earlier this week that Harry Wilson has agreed terms on a contract starting on July 1.

The 26-year-old is out of contract in June 2027, so Leeds risked losing him for nothing in 12 months without a sale or new terms this summer. He departs after eight and a half years at Elland Road, having made 196 appearances and contributing to the 2019-20 and 2024-25 Championship title wins.

Brighton have been seeking defensive reinforcements after selling Jan Paul van Hecke to Tottenham Hotspur for £52m earlier this month. Fabian Hurzeler’s side have also made multiple bids for Spurs centre-back Luka Vuskovic, who is at the World Cup with Croatia.

Struijk was Leeds’s only natural, senior, left-footed centre-back, so Daniel Farke’s side will now look to recruit in that profile.

The club had been keen to keep him and offered a new contract aimed at his peak years, but the player was ready for a fresh challenge. Illan Meslier is the only other departure Leeds have confirmed this summer.
