According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke offered an upbeat assessment of Leeds United’s squad before Saturday’s night-time meeting with Keith Andrews’ Brentford at Elland Road. A win would put the Whites six points clear of relegation for the night.

Noah Okafor has been sidelined since mid-February. He returned to training last week, then a minor setback kept him out against Crystal Palace, but Farke’s latest update was more encouraging.

Gabriel Gudmundsson is ruled out.

Brentford remain stretched, with six players out. Fabio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo had anterior cruciate ligament surgery in November and are out for the season.

Josh Dasilva continues his anterior cruciate ligament comeback after two further operations late last season. He has done some first-team training this month but is being carefully managed. Full-back Rico Henry has a hamstring issue and is set to miss numerous weeks.

Aaron Hickey suffered a hamstring injury against Brighton and is expected back after the international break. Vitaly Janelt sustained a metatarsal problem in the same game and is also sidelined until after the break.

Brentford picked up a fresh concern in Monday’s draw with Wolves. Their status for the weekend is unclear.
