Leeds United host Nottingham Forest on Friday in a relegation six-pointer at Elland Road, the sides level on points and goal difference, Leeds ahead on goals scored and six clear of West Ham in 18th. It is a must-win for Daniel Farke’s side.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke’s update on Wednesday was largely positive. Jaka Bijol could return to involvement and concerns over James Justin’s toe have eased, although Anton Stach is set to miss out with a hip issue.
Forest have several absentees. Chris Wood has not played since October after knee surgery late last year, with week-by-week progress continuing. Nicolo Savona sustained a knee problem late last month, the severity undisclosed, and is expected to miss the game.
Neco Williams is suspended after a straight red card for a handball save in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace and will serve a one-match ban. With Savona also sidelined, Forest moved to sign German left-back Luca Netz on deadline day.
Goalkeeper John Victor is expected to miss the rest of the season following knee surgery, adding to issues in that position.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is a doubt after going off at half-time on Sunday with a shoulder injury. He was seen post-match with his arm in a sling and was due a scan this week.
First-choice keeper Matz Sels also departed at the break with a suspected groin problem, the severity unknown. Forest reacted by signing Manchester City third-choice Stefan Ortega on deadline day.
