Leeds United suffered a first-half injury blow as Anton Stach was forced off during the FA Cup tie at West Ham.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, he was hurt late in the half. Max Kilman, stretching to block, went through him in a heavy challenge after Alphonse Areola had saved his shot at the end of a Noah Okafor break.

His right ankle appeared to roll under the impact and he received treatment before limping around the pitch. The six ft four in German tried to continue, but Brenden Aaronson came on minutes later.

Stach had been a pre-match doubt with a hip issue in training. The 27-year-old featured only off the bench once for Germany over the past fortnight, against Switzerland.

Before going off, he helped Leeds control midfield, winning duels and progressing play. Leeds led at the time, Ao Tanaka scoring with a deflected strike on 26 minutes.

Leeds were already without Gabriel Gudmundsson and Daniel James from the squad. James is expected to miss a couple of weeks with an adductor strain, while Gudmundsson was not risked due to a minor groin issue.
