Leeds United welcome Bournemouth to Elland Road this weekend with Daniel Farke boosted by the news that defender Jayden Bogle has shaken off a foot injury and is fit to play.
The 25-year-old full-back was considered a major doubt after picking up a knock, but Farke confirmed the problem was only a bruise and that Bogle has returned to full training. His availability comes as a timely lift for Leeds, who head into the match on the back of a confidence-building 3-1 victory over Wolves.
Farke also revealed winger Dan James has made progress in his recovery and could feature, having trained with the squad for the first time this week. However, there was less positive news for Wilfried Gnonto and goalkeeper Lucas Perri, both of whom will miss the match.
“Lucas has not joined us in team training,” Farke explained. “We hope he can join us next week, but I don’t expect him back before the international break. With Jayden, good news in that he is back in training and will be available.
“Dan James trained yesterday for the first time. We will take a late decision. The bad news is with Willy Gnonto — he is still struggling with his calf and will miss the game.”
Despite those setbacks, Leeds approach the weekend in good spirits. Last week’s victory lifted them to seven points from their opening five Premier League matches and into a respectable 12th place.
With two consecutive home games on the horizon, starting with Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth, Leeds have a valuable opportunity to build momentum and strengthen their foothold in mid-table.
