Roy Keane has been targeted by a pointed bit of Leeds humour, with a city centre cinema putting him firmly in its sights.

According to Leeds Live, the Everyman at Trinity Leeds has displayed a board that reads: “Roy Keane. What a baby.”

The Sky Sports pundit, 54, famously fell out with Mick McCarthy before the 2002 World Cup. Keane, then Republic of Ireland captain, left the training camp before the tournament began, leaving McCarthy to field the fallout.

That episode is revisited in the new film Saipan, with Steve Coogan portraying McCarthy and Éanna Hardwicke playing Keane.

The playful jab is sure to go down well with Leeds United supporters, given Keane’s Manchester United connections.
