Daniel Farke says Leeds face their most difficult injury spell of the season before Sunday’s final home game against Brighton, the penultimate 2025/26 fixture at Elland Road. Leeds had been noted for the league’s best days missed through injury, yet the squad is suddenly stretched.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Farke listed multiple absences and major doubts that could leave him short.
Ilia Gruev is out for the season with a knee problem. Gabriel Gudmundsson suffered a hamstring injury late in the FA Cup semi-final defeat by Chelsea at Wembley and has missed the last two league games. Jayden Bogle injured his hamstring during a gym activation before the trip to Spurs, and Noah Okafor has a calf issue.
Facundo Buonanotte is ineligible to face his parent club and was also sidelined with a similar problem on Monday. There are doubts over Pascal Struijk, while Ethan Ampadu is a major doubt due to illness and did not train today.
Farke called the situation far from ideal but said Leeds will try to field a competitive side, finish as strongly as possible and lean on home support.
He promoted teenagers Rhys Chadwick and Jayden Lienou to the bench at Spurs and they could be involved again. The head coach was encouraged by the substitutes’ impact in the draw, highlighting Seb Bornauw, Sean Longstaff, Lucas Nmecha and Willy Gnonto.
