Kicker reports that Leeds are interested in acquiring VfB Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic. The Bosnian international scored 17 goals across all competitions for his Bundesliga outfit last season, commemorating his very first hat trick in the German first division amid five seasons spent playing for Stuttgart, Augsburg, ad Freiburg. Demirovic maintains a current €22m estimated market value.

Assuming Leeds are serious, a deal could stand a reasonable chance of going through. Demirovic is known to be unhappy with his role as a part-time striker behind Nick Woltemade and Deniz Undav. Stuttgart are presently trying to fend off a late Bayern Munich swoop for Woltemade, who will probably stay put. It seems unlikely that Bayern are willing to meet Stuttgart’s €75m asking process.

Leeds are not the only Premier League side to be linked with a Bundesliga player on Friday. Nottingham Forest flashed some cash with a €25m offer for VfB attacker Jamie Leweling. Stuttgart rejected this overture. Kicker actually claims that Stuttgart will begin by asking for upwards of €40m for Demirovic, but this seems rather hyperbolic.

The Swabians only paid €23m to acquire Demirovic from Augsburg last summer.
