Leeds United have named a strong side for today’s FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin among the substitutes. Gabi Gudmundsson and Dan James miss out on the squad.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, James has an adductor strain and is set to be sidelined for a couple of weeks. Gudmundsson has a minor groin issue and was not risked.
With Gudmundsson absent, James Justin starts at left wing back and Jayden Bogle on the right, with Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol and Pascal Struijk in central defence. Ethan Ampadu, Anton Stach and Ao Tanaka form the midfield behind a front pair of Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor.
Daniel Farke said on Thursday that Calvert-Lewin was a doubt after feeling a hamstring problem at the end of Wednesday’s session on his return from England duty. He missed training on Thursday and underwent a precautionary scan, and while Farke was hopeful it was minor, he could not be sure of his availability. Stach initially sat out this week with a hip issue, then returned on Thursday and was expected to be available.
Bench: Darlow, Byram, Bornauw, Longstaff, Gruev, Aaronson, Gnonto, Piroe, Calvert-Lewin. Farke reported no other issues beyond minor knocks following the March internationals.
