Leeds United have been fined £530,000 for nine breaches of Premier League Rule L.33 covering kick-off and restart obligations, three at Elland Road and six away. The Premier League said in a statement that sanctions were agreed after the club accepted the breaches.
The rules are designed to uphold professional standards and keep broadcasts to time, and Leeds have apologised and made improving compliance a key objective.
The first breach came on the opening day against Everton, a 1-0 home win, when kick-off was delayed by two minutes and the restart by two minutes 25 seconds, drawing a £10,000 fine. A shorter delay against Newcastle United on 30 August brought another £10,000 sanction.
Penalties rose to £20,000 for delays away to Fulham and Burnley. A delay at Brighton cost £75,000, and one at Nottingham Forest £85,000.
The seventh breach, away to Manchester City, led to a £90,000 fine. A one minute 20 seconds restart delay at Brentford on 14 December incurred £100,000.
The most recent incident was at home to Fulham on 17 January, when a one minute 27 seconds restart delay led to a £120,000 fine, including £20,000 for repeat offending. The sanction agreement has been ratified by three members of the Independent Judicial Panel.
