Opta’s latest predicted final Premier League table reflects changes for Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, with the update arriving after Forest’s latest setback, as Leeds prepare for Sunday’s trip to Sunderland.

Leeds moved six points clear of the dropzone, and of third-bottom West Ham, with a 4-1 home win over Crystal Palace last weekend. Earlier that afternoon West Ham lost 3-0 at Manchester City, handing Daniel Farke’s side the chance to pull away.

That victory also took Leeds above Nottingham Forest, who slipped to 17th and were one point behind before their Monday night visit to Fulham.

Sean Dyche’s Forest then lost 1-0 at Fulham, a fresh blow that left Leeds fifth-bottom heading into the post-Christmas schedule.

Opta had previously projected Forest to finish three points ahead of Leeds in its predicted final table and points, a forecast now revised ahead of Game Week 18.
