Leeds United are exploring goalkeeper options after Illan Meslier left at the end of his contract. Karl Darlow’s deal ends next week and the club hope to keep him.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds have asked Derby County about Jacob Widell Zetterstrom’s price, with Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolves also making recent enquiries.
The 27-year-old made his World Cup debut for Sweden this week and his first competitive start, facing Ao Tanaka’s Japan in a 1-1 draw that sent Sweden into the last 32.
Leeds have offered Darlow a new contract, with talks understood to be over a two-year deal. There is hope an agreement can be reached after he established himself as number one last season following Lucas Perri’s difficult Premier League introduction.
Zetterstrom’s reputation is rising with Derby and Sweden, and Derby are aware interest in him this summer is inevitable. Wolves had scouted him before his switch from Djurgarden two years ago, and Derby signed him to replace Joe Wildsmith in a £1.4m move.
