Leeds United have set out plans to honour Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight at Elland Road on Saturday, and are in positive talks with West Ham United over tributes on Sunday 5 April, the 26th anniversary of their deaths.
The club said in a statement that the Premier League fixture against Brentford will feature a minute of applause before kick-off and a big-screen tribute in the 26th minute, with members of both families in attendance.
The captains of Leeds United and Brentford will lay wreaths by the dugout. Chairman Paraag Marathe and managing director Robbie Evans will also lay wreaths at the East Stand plaque before kick-off.
Leeds visit West Ham United at the London Stadium at 4:30pm on Sunday 5 April in the FA Cup quarter final. Discussions with the hosts are positive regarding the laying of two wreaths in front of the away end before kick-off.
Loftus and Speight, both Leeds supporters, were murdered in Istanbul on 5 April 2000 while following the club in Europe. Marking the anniversary has become customary for fans, with banners and supporters turning their backs to play, including at last year's Hull City game.
