Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Everton are among the clubs considering a move for Manor Solomon in the summer
Everton are reportedly interested in signing Leeds United loan winger Manor Solomon from Tottenham in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Former Whites goalkeeper Paul Robinson has backed the Israeli international to make the move to Goodison Park, stating that he would be a "good fit" for the club.
Solomon, 25, is currently on the books at Tottenham Hotspur but has struggled to secure regular first-team football in North London.
Having impressed in the Championship, speculation is mounting that he could be on the move, with Everton keen to reinforce their attacking options.
The Toffees have been in the market for a versatile winger, and Solomon's ability to play on both flanks and as a number ten could make him an attractive option.
According to Football Insider, Everton are keen on Solomon ahead of the summer transfer window and are ready to move quickly to snap him up before anyone else.
Robinson, a former England international, shared his thoughts on the winger's qualities and how he could fit into David Moyes’ plans at Everton.
Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson explained why he believes Solomon is ready to step up to the Premier League and why Everton could be a strong destination for him.
“He looks a good player at that level,” Robinson said. “He’s played 26 times for Leeds, got seven goals and seven assists.
“The question is whether he can make the step up, and I think out of that Leeds team, he is one of the players who can compete in the Premier League. The expectation at Leeds now is to go up, but they need to buy Premier League players. He is one of the players that would add to Leeds and make them Premier League-ready.”
“As far as Everton are concerned, we speak every week about them needing a winger,” he added. “Solomon can play on either flank and can play as a number ten, depending on the formation David Moyes wants to adopt, and he’s a player that would bolster their ranks.”
“He’s 25 now, you’re not waiting for potential, he’s ready and wants to go and play. Everton aren’t the only side interested, obviously, Leeds are there as well, but they’re only in contention if they earn promotion to the Premier League.
“You would expect since he’s been loaned out by Tottenham that he is going to be the subject of a bidding war in the summer. The important thing for him is to play regular football, and I think Everton is a good fit for him, but there will be a lot of clubs looking at him.”
Now under the management of Moyes, Everton have found form and are kicking on in the Premier League.
With improved performances and a more stable outlook, the Toffees may find themselves in a strong position to attract summer reinforcements.
The Whites are reportedly "undecided" whether to pursue a deal for Solomon, despite fan and pundit calls to secure his services permanently.
Robinson’s comments suggest that Solomon’s experience and versatility make him an ideal signing for Everton.
Leeds could still be in the running if they secure Premier League promotion, but Everton's established top-flight status could give them the upper hand.
If Solomon does leave Tottenham, the battle for his signature could be one of the more intriguing storylines of the summer transfer window.
