Leeds United want to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Kerim Alajbegovic this summer and have already met with his representatives for talks, according to the Daily Mail.

Manager Daniel Farke will be backed this summer as he looks to bolster his attacking ranks and establish the club as a mainstay in the Premier League.

Alajbegovic is on the Whites’ radar after ending last season with 14 goals and three assists in 44 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga.

The ‘quick and skilful‘ 18-year-old has been named in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s squad for the 2026 World Cup, and Leeds could face more competition for his services if he impresses at the tournament.

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Napoli, AS Roma and Inter Milan are also keen on Alajbegovic after his impressive campaign.

Leverkusen sold him to Red Bull Salzburg last summer, but have decided to take up their option to buy him back this summer for £7 million.

While the Bundesliga club want to keep him for next season, the Whites and other suitors are hoping that offering close to £18m for his services could tempt them into doing business.

Leeds want to improve on their 14th-place finish next season, and they need to improve significantly in the final third.

Signing Alajbegovic could help Farke’s men challenge for a place in the top half of the table, but pipping other suitors to him will be tricky.

The other clubs looking to sign the German-born attacker are all playing in the Champions League next season.

They will also be challenging for their league titles and other major trophies, which could rule Leeds out of the race for Alajbegovic.
