Leeds United have lost Ilia Gruev for the rest of the season after scans confirmed a meniscus injury. The midfielder is expected to be ready for the start of pre-season.

According to Leeds Live, the setback ends his Wembley hopes against Chelsea on Sunday, while Jayden Bogle and Sebastiaan Bornauw are both racing to be fit.

Bogle was taken off at half-time at Bournemouth after a kick to the foot. It does not seem too serious and he is expected to be in contention to face Chelsea.

Daniel Farke said Gruev’s knee problem will rule him out for the run-in, though the club expect him back for the start of pre-season. He accepted it is far from ideal.

On Bornauw, Farke explained the centre-back rolled his ankle in the warm-up. It was sore yesterday and he missed training today, but there does not appear to be ligament damage. They hope he will rejoin team training tomorrow and, if he does, he will be available.

Leeds have two more sessions before the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. Farke is likely to be missing only Gruev from the squad that travelled to Bournemouth.
