Leeds United set a Championship revenue record in 2024/25, with newly filed accounts laying bare the cost of promotion.
Accounts for the season were lodged at Companies House. According to Leeds Live, turnover hit £137m as Daniel Farke’s side returned to the Premier League with 100 points, though spending must remain within Profit and Sustainability Rules. This came despite reduced parachute payments.
Commercial income jumped 34 percent to £58.1m, which The Athletic reports is the ninth-highest among English clubs. Broadcast income fell by just over £6m to £47.2m.
Partnerships with Red Bull, front-of-shirt sponsor SBOTOP and Adidas buoyed off-field earnings. Matchday revenue of £31.6m placed Leeds around mid-table for Premier League gate receipts despite playing in the second tier.
Overall costs reached £180.6m, including a £107.7m wage bill that was close to the £121m paid two years earlier in the top flight. The pre-tax loss came in at £49.2m, 19 percent lower year on year.
Profit from player sales dropped 25 percent to £25m. The average weekly wage was £45,000 and staff costs were up 28 percent. Recruitment totalled £45m, offset by £67.5m of sales.
Investment from 49ers Enterprises was used to reduce underlying debt and fund summer spending on transfers and wages, with £108m injected by investors.
The owners will now hope Farke can keep the team in the division. If they avoid the drop, the club are set up to be competitive again next season.
