Leeds United earned a 1-1 draw at high-flying Sunderland, making it back-to-back away points for the first time this season. Dominic Calvert-Lewin led the way in a display that pushed for more.

Simon Adringa curled in from the angle just before the half-hour to put the hosts ahead. Joe Rodon then went off injured, Ao Tanaka came on and the switch to four at the back brought greater control, according to Leeds Live.

Leeds scored with their first opening of the second half, Brenden Aaronson threading a superb ball for Calvert-Lewin to guide in. The visitors dominated after the break but could not force a winner.

Calvert-Lewin’s link play and finish earned nine. Aaronson took eight for influence and assist, while Anton Stach also claimed eight after a pinpoint cross-field pass sparked the equaliser. Ethan Ampadu anchored with authority for eight and Gabriel Gudmundsson’s covering and blocks earned eight.

Goalkeeper Lucas Perri received seven, hesitating in a one-on-one with Brian Brobbey but distributing well overall. Jaka Bijol was a steady seven and Pascal Struijk a composed seven. Jayden Bogle took seven after an uncertain first half but improved, while Noah Okafor’s enterprise brought seven without the final bite.

Rodon battled before departing and was marked six after playing Sunderland onside for the opener. Tanaka impressed off the bench for seven and Lukas Nmecha worked hard on the left for six, carrying late. Wilfried Gnonto was not on long enough to rate.
