Leeds United have three players back before the trip to Aston Villa, but Noah Okafor will be absent with a hamstring issue.

Okafor limped out of Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Birmingham City after feeling discomfort following a second-half sprint. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke said the winger has suffered a hamstring injury and will be out between two and four weeks. He added it is too early to judge, but Okafor will definitely miss Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Okafor has gone the distance only once in 27 outings this season. Although his time at AC Milan was disrupted by hamstring and calf niggles, he had stayed available for all but one Leeds fixture until this setback, helped by work away from Thorp Arch and the club’s medical team.

In better news, Anton Stach, Pascal Struijk and Daniel James have returned to team training and are available. Stach missed the past three matches with a hip problem, while Struijk sat out one Premier League game and the cup tie with a hip issue.

James’ summer build-up was interrupted, then core muscle and ankle injuries derailed his start. A hamstring tendon problem ruled him out for 11 games before substitute cameos against Nottingham Forest and Chelsea, after which he reported back pain last weekend. He is now back involved.
