Leeds United will put their year-long unbeaten home record on the line on Saturday when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Elland Road for the early kick-off.
The hosts have been formidable on their own patch this season. They face a Spurs side, however, that has completely dominated this fixture recently. In fact, Tottenham have won the last four consecutive meetings and scored four goals on each of their last two visits to West Yorkshire.
Daniel Farke is dealing with a significant injury crisis on the wings. Leeds will be without attackers Daniel James and Willy Gnonto, while youngster Harry Gray is also a major doubt. Elsewhere, goalkeeper Lucas Perri has resumed training, but this weekend’s game is expected to come too soon for his return.
Tottenham have been hit by a severe injury crisis, though manager Thomas Frank has confirmed that key defender Cristian Romero is fit and available to start. However, the list of absentees remains extensive. Randal Kolo Muani and Kota Takai have returned to training but are not yet ready for selection. Consequently, they join Dominic Solanke, James Maddison, and Dejan Kulusevski on the sidelines.
The newly promoted side have made a solid start to the season, sitting mid-table with eight points from six games. Their strength has been their form at Elland Road, where they have been unbeaten in the league for a full year. However, they have a dreadful record in early kick-offs, having not won one in their last 11 attempts since August 2022.
Spurs have drawn their last two league games and will be desperate to get back to winning ways to keep pace with the top four. Their away form has been strong this season, picking up seven points from a possible nine. Furthermore, they will be confident of finding the net, having scored eight goals across their last two visits to Elland Road.
Leeds United predicted XI: Darlow; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Stach, Ampadu, Longstaff; Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin, Okafor.
Tottenham Hotspur predicted XI: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bentancur, Bergvall; Kudus, Simons; Richarlison.
The match will be broadcast live in the UK on TNT Sports 1, with coverage beginning at 12:00 PM BST.
