The Foxes and Canaries got off to contrasting starts in their first Championship matches, with Leicester needing a late Wout Faes goal to get past Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 under new manager Marti Cifuentes.

Norwich weren't quite as fortunate under their new boss Liam Manning as they were downed 2-1 by Millwall at Carrow Road, and it now looks as though both clubs are eyeing up attack-minded reinforcements in the final few weeks of the summer transfer window.

According to Football Insider, attacking midfielder Yegor Tverdokhlib is being eyed up by both Leicester and Norwich with just two and a half weeks to go until the window slams shut on September 1.

The little-known Tverdokhlib plies his trade in his native Ukraine, playing for a number of clubs below the country's top flight before winning promotion with Minaj in 2022, and then a move to Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih followed in January 2024.

24-year-old Tverdokhlib had a breakout year for Kryvbas last season, finding the back of the net 14 times in 24 Ukrainian Premier League games from an attacking midfield role.

That form has brought him on to the radar's of several clubs, with Leicester and Norwich being two outfits that are looking into the possibility of landing him.

Leicester could yet lose Bilal El Khannouss in the number 10 role before the transfer window closes, whilst Norwich are still on the lookout for fresh faces in the final third to help the likes of Josh Sargent and Mathias Kvistgaarden.

They aren't the only clubs that are interested in the goalscoring midfielder though. German Bundesliga outfit Augsburg are one club who are eyeing up a move, and they are joined by Turkish Süper Lig outfit Eyupspor in the running.

It's all well and good both Leicester and Norwich reportedly being interested in goalscoring number 10 Tverdokhlib, but it appears that he has plans for his career in another country rather than England.

In an interview with Tribuna back in June, Tverdokhlib revealed that his big goal was to play in the Bundesliga, and with Augsburg said to be keen, that could put them at the front of the queue if bids start to go in.

The potential to play in the Premier League though with either English club could be a swaying factor, although the last Ukrainian attacker to make a move to the Championship - Sunderland's Nazariy Rusyn - somewhat flopped at the Stadium of Light and has failed to make an impact, so there may be a bit of caution when it comes to going over the top with bids.
