Manchester United return to league action this evening as they face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

United have already played the Foxes three times this season and emerged victorious on each occasion.

The Red Devils have completed the league double against two teams this season – Fulham and Southampton – and will aim to do the same against Leicester.

Leicester have lost 12 of their last 13 league games and are deep in the relegation zone. A victory against United would boost their hopes of survival.

Match preview

United have won their last three league meetings with Leicester and have suffered just one defeat in their past eight visits to the King Power. Leicester have lost their last six home games.

Manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed that midfielder Mason Mount will be in the matchday squad for the first time since December. However, centre-back Harry Maguire is doubtful.

Leicester have fewer injury concerns than the Red Devils. Ghanaian forward Abdul Fatawu is the only player sidelined for this contest.

What to expect

The last five meetings between the two teams across all competitions have produced 17 goals.

Amorim is expected to stick with his 3-4-2-1 formation but may change the starting XI that started against Real Sociedad.

Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy switched from his preferred 4-2-3-1 to a 3-4-2-1 set-up against Chelsea.

Whether he will maintain this tactical adjustment for this match remains to be seen.

Key players

Leicester City

Mads Hermansen: The Danish goalkeeper has been in solid form for the Foxes, preventing 0.72 goals in the league this season.

Wilfred Ndidi: One of Leicester’s most experienced players, the defensive midfielder’s energy and ball-winning ability will be crucial for the hosts.

Man United

Bruno Fernandes: The Portuguese playmaker has an outstanding record against the Foxes, contributing five goals and six assists in 11 appearances against them.

Patrick Dorgu: The Danish international was electric against Sociedad. His pace and movement could cause serious problems for Leicester’s defence.
