At the time of writing this Leicester City transfer rumour and opinion article, only two whole days of transfer activity remains permitted for Premier League clubs. Of course, one or two exceptions exists there but the January market is only generally active in for that month.
The LCFC fan base is getting a bit twitchy with regard to signings. Or, more precisely, concern lies with a lack of additions to Ruud van Nistelrooy's squad. The Dutchman's prerogative was to add to the King Power side's roster. He said as much to journalists. And van Nistelrooy also claimed funds were available.
Yet a solitary acquisition has arrived on Filbert Way this winter until now. Inexpensive defender Woyo Coulibaly, who may impress when given further opportunities, joined the east Midlanders. City are reported to be interested in obtaining a winger to supplement Abdul Fatawu's untimely absence. Along with a striker or a possibly a centre back.
Every position bar goalkeeper is actually covered in that respect, when including Coulibaly at right back. That's if media speculation is accurate in this case. So which players are the latest to be linked to King Power Stadium? The Foxes are currently connected with an ex-Arsenal striker now playing for notable club Ajax in the Netherlands.
And the attacker in question is still scoring a good amount of goals in their top flight (Eredivisie) and the Europa League. Let's hear more about how Leicester are meant to be monitoring Chuba Akpom. Someone who, as you may recall, once turned out for Arsenal and Middlesbrough.
Chuba Akpom has bagged seven UEL goals in his last 19 appearance over the previous two seasons. Only capable forwards do that. Marseille and Sunderland ostensibly join the Foxes in eyeing an eleventh hour swoop for the 29-year-old:

He could return to the Championship just a year and a half after leaving SAFC rivals Middlesbrough."
