Palmeiras will not stage the first leg of the Paulistão final at Allianz Parque, instead using Arena Barueri because the pitch works are not complete. According to Globo.com, president Leila Pereira said there is no exact date for the reopening, though she believes the absence may soon end.
She said the club had wanted to play at Allianz Parque, but with the turf renovation unfinished they must switch to Barueri. She offered no deadline, adding the refurbishment is in its final stages and the next match after the Paulista final could already be back at their home.
Allianz Parque has been shut since December 2025 for the replacement of its synthetic surface. The original late February target was extended to ensure everything is fully ready on delivery.
The fixture Leila cited as a potential return is against Mirassol on Sunday 15 March at 18:30, Brasília time, in the sixth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Before that, Palmeiras face Novorizontino in the state final, with the first leg on Wednesday at 20:00 in Barueri and the decisive return on Sunday in Novo Horizonte. They then visit Vasco on Thursday 12 at 19:30 at São Januário.
In the build-up, Leila Pereira also criticised São Paulo for complaining about refereeing.
