Rémi Himbert faces six to eight weeks out after an ankle injury in Lyon's 1-1 Europa League draw at Celta Vigo, head coach Paulo Fonseca has confirmed.

He went down seconds after coming on, introduced in the 67th minute then replaced by Adam Karabec in the 70th. He clutched his right ankle after Pablo Duran fell on it and was helped off by medical staff. According to Get French Football News, the 18-year-old had been featuring more often in recent weeks.

Before that match he had 10 first-team appearances this season, scoring three goals, one in Ligue 1, one in the Europa League and one in the Coupe de France.

Post-match in Spain, Fonseca said he feared the problem was "not good". On Saturday he called it a "severe sprain".

Fonseca added that it was a tough setback for Himbert, who is disappointed, and said the focus now is on recovery.
