Lens beat Metz 3-0 at Stade Bollaert-Delelis, staying second in Ligue 1 and moving to within one point of leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Saud Abdulhamid opened the scoring in the 44th minute, finishing from Abdallah Sima's pass. After the restart, Florian Thauvin swept in Adrien Thomasson's cut-back (46.). Half time substitute Amadou Haidara then guided in Matthieu Udol's assist (52.) to seal it.
Jonathan Fischer kept Metz in touch before the break with smart saves, but the visitors offered little threat. Metz failed to register a shot on target.
Lens controlled the attacking metrics. The hosts registered 24 attempts, with seven on target. Metz managed five attempts.
