Lens eye LASK’s Melayro Bogarde to replace Brentford target Mamadou Sangaré | OneFootball

RC Lens are reportedly very keen on the idea of signing LASK’s Melayro Bogarde (24), according to Foot Mercato.

In their search for a replacement for Mamadou Sangaré (24), who is expected to sign for Brentford FC shortly, Les Sang et Or appear to have found their gem in the Surinamese international.

Having joined Linz on a free transfer from TSG Hoffenheim in the summer of 2024, the Rotterdam-born player has established himself as a key member of the Austrian club’s squad.

Having made 38 appearances (25 as a starter) during his first season in the Bundesliga, Bogarde continued his fine form in 2025-26, starting 30 of the 35 matches he played across all competitions – one goal, five assists.

Under contract with LASK until 2028, the former PEC Zwolle player could cost Lens’s management as little as €5m – slightly less than the €8m they paid last summer to secure Sangaré from Rapid Vienna.
