Lens open again to negotiations with Rennes for Brice Samba

Brice Samba (30) looked to be the second statement signing from Stade Rennais in the winter transfer window when it was reported that they had reached an agreement in principle with not only the player but also RC Lens.

This deal stalled in recent weeks, and RMC Sport has reported that tense negotiations were caused by poor relations between the two owners of the northern clubs. However, the French outlet writes that Lens are once again open to a departure.

This is partly because Les Sang et Or are reportedly making good progress on their complicated deal to bring Pau López (30) back to France. The Spanish goalkeeper is on loan at Girona FC from Olympique de Marseille.

There is an expectation that Samba will make the transfer from Lens to Rennes in this current transfer window with RMC Sport alleging that sources close to both clubs have told them that they find it difficult to see how a deal won’t be made.
