Lens return to training at la Gaillette as Thorgan Hazard announcement awaited

According to L'Équipe, RC Lens returned to la Gaillette on Thursday, 48 days after their 3-1 Coupe de France win at the Stade de France, and met new head coach Dino Toppmöller.

The squad assembled in the morning alongside fresh backroom staff. Toppmöller succeeds Pierre Sage, sold to Crystal Palace. Thursday and Friday are dedicated to physical and medical testing.

Summer’s first signing, Michaël Cuisance, was present, as was Rémy Labeau-Lascary after a loan at Brest. Mamadou Sangaré was absent, granted a few extra days following duty with Mali.

Lens will very soon be strengthened by Belgian Thorgan Hazard, whose signing, trailed for months, should be made official early next week.

Goalkeepers Régis Gurtner and Mathieu Gorgelin, whose deals expired on 30 June, could yet continue in Pas-de-Calais.
