Leonardo Balerdi a doubt for OM v Nantes as virus hits captain

OM could be without Leonardo Balerdi for the Ligue 1 restart at home to Nantes on Sunday at 15:00, with the captain ill.

According to L'Équipe, Roberto De Zerbi reshaped his plans at Saturday's final training session as Balerdi, affected by a virus, did not take part.

The Argentine is considered very doubtful for the Canaries' visit, and at best may only make the matchday squad.

Benjamin Pavard has also been under the weather in recent days, though the 2018 World Cup winner should be fit, very likely alongside Facundo Medina in central defence.

Balerdi's probable absence could open a place for CJ Egan-Riley, who was initially set to feature for the reserves in a Saturday friendly. He was kept with the first team, unlike Pol Lirola, Ulisses Garcia and Neal Maupay, who all played for the Pro 2.
