Bayer Leverkusen sporting managing director Simon Rolfes has declined to label Exequiel Palacios unsellable, with RB Leipzig and Ipswich Town linked.
Fabrizio Romano has reported the Argentine midfielder is open to leaving Leverkusen and that both clubs are interested.
"There are always rumours about certain players. Palacios is one of the players for whom this has happened from time to time in recent years." he told Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger.
Rolfes kept a relaxed tone about the situation but stopped short of ruling out a departure.
Robert Andrich, Aleix García and Equi Fernández have also been linked with moves, while new signing Kennet Eichhorn’s injury has left Die Werkself with one fewer central midfield option for now.
"We have valued Robert highly for years – also because of the way he contributes. But the same applies to him as to everyone else: he has to put himself in a good sporting position and fight for his place.
"Kennet is currently unavailable as a competitor. Nevertheless, we still have four players for two positions, plus Noah Mbamba. So the competition in this position remains high."
