The Lewis family have injected £100 million into Tottenham Hotspur as they look to back new manager Roberto De Zerbi in the summer transfer window, football.london reports.

The move comes ahead of what could become one of the most ambitious rebuilds in recent years, serving as proof of how determined they are to restore Spurs to the top end of English football.

The latest investment follows a previous £100m cash injection made last October, giving Spurs greater flexibility as they look to banish the demons from their disappointing finish in the last two seasons.

They’re also funding the investment through INEC rather than adding to their debt.

The investment is another clear sign that the Lewis family have no interest in selling the club or relinquishing their role as major shareholders.

Despite attracting interest from potential buyers over the past year, the Lewis family have remained firm in their stance that the club is not on the market. 

They are choosing to invest heavily in a project they believe can return Spurs to competing at the highest level.

That project is now being led by De Zerbi, who has been tasked with restoring Tottenham’s reputation after consecutive 17th-place finishes. 

The Italian arrives with a reputation for attacking football, and the latest financial backing suggests he will receive the resources needed to build a competitive squad.

Tottenham mean business this summer

Even before the Lewis family decided to pump cash into the club’s coffers, Tottenham were already attacking the transfer window.

The calibre of players on their extensive shortlist proves they’re ready to reclaim their place in the upper echelons of the Premier League, and De Zerbi is keen to get the job done.

Tottenham have all but restructured a backline that couldn’t stop leaking goals last season, bringing in Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke.

They’ve now shifted their attention to midfield, where they’re plotting a stunning double big-money deal for Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.

They still wouldn’t be finished, with the club also looking to revamp their attacking options.

Tottenham have been linked with Marcus Rashford and Ivory Coast breakout star Yan Diomande.
