Liam Cooper has welcomed Leeds United prospect Harry Gray to Sheffield Wednesday with a three-word Instagram message after the 17-year-old sealed a season-long loan.
The move was confirmed on Tuesday, with Wednesday back in League One following relegation earlier this year and beginning a new era under new ownership. Leeds said they would be “monitoring his progress very closely”.
Gray scored three goals in 20 League One appearances during a six-month spell at Rotherham United last season amid a relegation fight. He and Leeds hope joining a side targeting promotion will help him add to his senior tally.
Cooper signed a new one-year deal at Hillsborough in June, having initially arrived on a short-term contract in November to add experience during a squad overhaul. He marked Gray’s arrival with the caption “Here he is” on his Instagram story.
Gray has already linked up for pre-season. Wednesday begin 2026/27 a week and a half before Leeds in the Premier League, starting with a Carabao Cup tie at Bolton Wanderers on 8 August, who replaced them in the Championship.
Early pre-season footage showed Gray and his new team-mates undertaking what appeared to be the bleep test, after which the Leeds loanee dropped to the turf for a well-earned breather.
