In recent weeks, discussions have lessened about the possibilities of a San Siro renovation, but AC Milan and Inter representatives met last week to discuss the situation with WeBuild, but a report suggests the meeting was ‘a joke’.

Whilst both clubs are going ahead with their respective projects, neither have fully written off the possibility of continuation at San Siro. Instead, Milan, at least, have just preferred to continue with their project, given it seems the better option.

Last week, there was a chance for things to change slightly when the parties met with WeBuild technicians at Palazzo Marino, and whilst Milan’s Mayor Beppe Sala commented after the meeting, stating that the plans were ‘extraordinary’, there were no comments made by Rossoneri representatives.

Until now, there has been no update on the plans and what was said during the meeting. However, today, a report from Libero (via Milan News) states that no documents or project was delivered to the Municipality of Milan.

The Paper then refers to comments from Alessandro DeChirico, the Forza Italia councillor.

“They were presented with a project without a project, but what is that? A joke.

“I have asked the presidents of the competent commissions (Sport, Olympics, Green with the addition of the State Property Commission) to meet and in these hours I am finalising the collection of signatures of the opposition councillors,” he added.

“We want to see the project and, since it is public property, better understand the hypothesis of the transfer of the surface right and what the municipal administration has in mind. Once again the mayor alone in command sins of presumption and has not wanted to listen to those who simply want the good of their city.”

Whilst the comments from Mayor Sala suggest that the plans may have been ‘extraordinary’ without any plans presented to the officials, no progress can be made, which is why Libero refers to it as a ‘manifestation of intent’ rather than anything more.
