Leny Yoro is at the top of the summer shopping list for Real Madrid following their acquisition of Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer from PSG.

The 18-year-old, for his part, is also eager to join the Merengues in the summer despite attracting serious interest from other clubs like PSG, Manchester United, and Liverpool.

In fact, there have been talks of an agreement in principle between the reigning Spanish champions and the player, although talks with Lille are proving to be a hurdle.

Lille want €70 million

Earlier this week, reports emerged claiming that Real Madrid might be able to pull off Leny Yoro’s signing for a fee of €25-30 million.

But now, AS reports that Lille continue to hold out for a fee of €70 million for the 18-year-old defender even though he has entered the final year of his contract at the club.

This is proving to be a stumbling block in negotiations as Real Madrid do not want to offer anything close to that figure given the player’s contract situation.

As has already been reported, Los Blancos have set a €40 million spending limit for Yoro and do not intend on spending more than that.

PSG, meanwhile, are offering €60 million for the teenager, but Lille do not wish to accept that proposal as they would be strengthening a direct rival.

Yoro, for his part, is clear that he will not sign a new contract at Lille and wants to play only for Real Madrid – be it this year or in 2025, when he can leave as a free agent.

This does put the Ligue 1 giants under pressure and could compel them to lower their asking price for the teenager.

With the defender unlikely to be a part of the France Olympics squad, he would be available to join Real Madrid immediately if an agreement is reached between the two clubs. But Lille must lower their demands for the transfer to go through.
