Linssen hits equaliser as Twente drop to fifth

FC Twente 1-1 NEC Nijmegen at De Grolsch Veste, a result that drops Twente from fourth to fifth in the Eredivisie.

Sondre Ørjasæter finished a fast break in the 10th minute after Daan Rots broke clear and squared for a calm finish.

Bryan Linssen levelled for NEC from Philippe Sandler's through ball (37.).

After the restart Lars Unnerstall tipped away Bram Nuytinck's header (64.) and then denied Sandler from close range (76.). At the other end, Gonzalo Cretazz kept NEC level with a string of stops, finishing with six saves.

Tjaronn Chery struck the bar late on (84.). In the fourth minute of second half stoppage time, Cretazz parried Robin Propper's goalbound header to preserve the point.

NEC attempted 20 shots and won nine corners. Twente produced eight efforts on target from 13 attempts.
