Lionesses begin World Cup play-offs against Greece | OneFootball

England have learned their opponents for the play-off round of the 2027 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign.

A heavy 4-0 defeat to Spain meant that Sarina Wiegman's team missed out on automatic qualification for next year's tournament to be held in Brazil with further games needed to be played first.

The Lionesses will have to first defeat Greece over two legs before they can face either Slovakia and Ukraine, who they have already defeated twice in qualificaton so far, in the second round.

Elsewhere, Scotland will need to defeat Czechia where either Lithuania or Scotland await. Meanwhile, should Wales defeat Albania in the first round they'll have to then get the best of either Romania or Norway.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland have a tough draw against Portugal with either Croatia or Iceland awaiting should they succeed.

Finally, the Republic of Ireland have to beat Kazakhstan before they potentially face a difficult test against either Belgium or Poland.
