In a recent report, Fichajes revealed that Liverpool are keeping a keen eye on Mainz midfielder Kaishu Sano. It has been mentioned that the Reds are willing to launch a €60m move to land the Japanese talent later this year.
Sano managed to prove his worth as a decent performer in the Bundesliga last season when he put in a series of influential displays for Mainz at the centre of the park. The 25-year-old netted two goals and earned five assists in 48 matches for the German club in the previous campaign across all competitions.
The Japanese talent is currently one of the most talented central midfielders in the Bundesliga. Therefore, it is no wonder that the Reds are planning to move in for him in this transfer period.
His current contract at the German club will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Liverpool to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Sano loves a tackle and can sense the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a tidy passer as well.
The Japan international can even contribute by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team from midfield. Sano mainly operates as a defensive midfielder but can also serve as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to snap him up this off-season.
We can expect Sano to bring more quality and depth to Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola’s midfield department. He is capable of fighting for a regular first-team place at the Merseyside club in the coming seasons.
At 25, Sano has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Reds to consider in this transfer period. He will also help Liverpool compete across all fronts in the future. Therefore, Iraola would be wise to move in for him before the end of this transfer window.
