Arne Slot says it is too early to say whether Mo Salah has played his last game in a Liverpool shirt.

Salah was forced off in the 3-1 win against Crystal Palace as goals from Alexander Isak, Andy Robertson and Florian Wirtz cemented their side’s place in the Champions League spots.

But it may well be the farewell Salah would not have wanted, with the Egyptian leaving the club at the end of the season and only four games remaining of the current campaign.

“Another win and another injury,” Liverpool boss Slot said after the game.

“It’s the story of our season. It’s too early to say but we all know Mo and how hard it is for him to leave the pitch. For Mo to leave the pitch, it shows you something but we have to wait and see how bad it is.”

Liverpool look certain to book their place in next season’s Champions League and Slot hailed his players’ ability to get over the line in a tight game.

“We showed today how small the margins are,” he said. “Not only in our game but every game that’s been played in the Premier League at the moment.

“We are really happy with the win and the gap to sixth place because we saw earlier this week how well Brighton played and they are on a streak of 6 or 7 games, so we know we have to keep winning our games to qualify for Champions League.”
