Yan Diomande looks out of Bayern’s price range, according to Christian Falk, which should open the door to the Premier League.
Liverpool are understood to be among the chasing pack from England, with the Reds in desperate need of injecting pace into their flanks.
Meanwhile, Vincent Kompany’s Bundesliga leaders simply need a “Plan B” option to starter Luis Diaz.

Diomande is, without question, one of the most-coveted talents in Europe ahead of the summer transfer window.
But, put simply, an asking price that could very well exceed even the €100m mark is too rich for FC Bayern’s blood.
“It is TRUE: Yan Diomande is going to cost a lot of money to sign this summer. The €100m [£87.1m] asking price was established by RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff,” Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.
“We saw him playing against Bayern Munich in the DFB Pokal. He’s good, he’s really good. However, he’s still got some developmental work to do, and so €100m will be too much for Bayern this summer.
“That said, it’s a price that Premier League clubs can of course afford to pay.”

With the weight of Premier League interest behind Yan Diomande – and Bayern out of the running – it’s difficult to see how the Ivorian ends up anywhere else but the English top-flight.
“I heard that Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are all interested and can afford him,” Christian Falk added.
“Bayern can’t afford Diomande at this point because, as we’ve reported before at Bayern Insider, Luis Diaz is the established first-choice on the left wing. Bayern Munich don’t need a “Plan A”, they need a “Plan B”; so €100m for a Plan B behind Diaz is just too much money.
“At the moment – and I’m genuinely sorry, Bayern fans, as I’d love to see him in Munich – he needs time to develop.
“He’s clearly got a lot of potential, as was clear even in this one match. But it’s just not enough to go on to commit to such a huge fee at this point in time.”
A fee of £87m-plus would still represent a sizeable outlay, even for cash-rich clubs in the Premier League.
But, ultimately, especially in Liverpool’s case, there’s not exactly a swathe of options available in the coveted 23-25-year-old category.
It’s a hell of a lot of money, in fact, for a player with nowhere close to the senior game experience the Reds’ recruitment generally looks for.
However, Yan Diomande’s profile is a pretty much bolt-on, perfect fit for Arne Slot’s side. Extreme pace on the left flank, an eye for goal and the confidence to take on a man and be direct.

Our bet here at CF Bayern Insider is that Liverpool should win the race for the 19-year-old this summer. Cody Gakpo is a regular starter but doesn’t possess the raw pace and dynamism Diomande would bring, whilst Manchester City already have livewire Rayan Cherki in their ranks.
The trouble for the reigning Premier League champions, of course, will be persuading the player if they’re without Champions League qualification next term… and rivals Manchester United can offer top European football.
