Liverpool declined to add a new left winger in the summer transfer window - despite letting Luis Diaz go.
The Colombia international, 28, was central to the Reds winning the 2024/25 Premier League title. Diaz hit 13 goals en route to the title - but ended up leaving for Bayern Munich in a deal worth around £65m.
He has got off to a great start in Bavaria - leaving Cody Gakpo as Arne Slot’s only senior option off the left.
There is Rio Ngumoha - apparently one of the chief reasons Richard Hughes declined to sign a new left winger - but minutes have been hard to come by for the 17-year-old.
But there is the option for Arne Slot to augment his numbers in the position - with a player currently making waves with the youth and underage sectors.

Trent Kone-Doherty, 19, has been in sparkling form - establishing himself as a mainstay for Liverpool’s Premier League 2 side and in the UEFA Youth League too.
The young Irishman - who recently made the breakthrough at U21 level in the international game - was on target twice during the midweek European showdown with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Kone-Doherty was the star of the show alongside Kieran Morrison for Rob Page’s side - and disclosed after the encounter that he’s basing his game on Luis Diaz.
Asked by Lewis Steele - the Liverpool insider - to name his idol, Kone-Doherty was unequivocal.
“Luis Diaz,” he replied.
“Even when he was at Liverpool, I liked how he played the game. He is a good idol to look at. He is a player I like to watch, if I can take things from his game I will try to.”
