In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton this summer. It has been mentioned that the Reds are keeping a keen eye on the English talent ahead of a potential move for him this off-season.

Wharton’s Impressive Form In English Football

Wharton has enjoyed a good run of form at the London club as he has put in a run of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 22-year-old has secured seven assists in 46 appearances for Crystal Palace this season in all competitions.

The Blackburn-born talent is currently among the most consistent midfielders in the Premier League. Therefore, it is no surprise that Liverpool are showing interest in signing him in the upcoming transfer window.

His current deal at Selhurst Park will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for the Reds to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Should Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Move In For Wharton?

Wharton is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is a decent passer as well.

The English sensation can chip in by picking up his fair share of assists in the final third. Wharton mainly operates as a defensive midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder or in the number ten position if needed. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Merseyside club.

Wharton would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Liverpool head coach Arne Slot’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at Anfield next season.

At 22, Wharton has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Reds to consider in this summer transfer window. He might even help the Merseyside giants compete for some major honours over the next few years. All in all, Slot should focus on moving in for him later this year.
