Liverpool’s interest in Joshua Kimmich is understandable as the long-term future of Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield remains under the radar. The renewal talks with the latter haven’t progressed so far even though his current contract runs out at the end of the season.

With interest heating up from Real Madrid, the Reds might lose their one of the key members next summer. Hence, the club want to remain prepared for such situations and has already started exploring replacements in the market.

Kimmich has a similar situation as his contract runs out after six months. He is evaluating options in the market before taking a final call on his future.
