Obviously, the club's first task is to keep Szoboszlai. Liverpool simply have to tie him down to a new deal beyond the current terms that he is on, which expires in 2028.
But importantly, Liverpool also have to add more depth to the squad and more players of Szoboszlai's ilk.
This is something if TEAMtalk's report is to be believed Liverpool are trying to do. According to TEAMtalk's article, Liverpool are plotting a move for Lucas Bergvall of Tottenham.
He's only 20-years-old but Bergvall already has over 70 appearances under his belt at Tottenham. He was also on the club's radar in the past at Djurgardens, when he first made his breakthrough in Swedish football.
A quick and extremely technical midfielder, what makes Bergvall very similar to Szoboszlai and potentially the next Szoboszlai is his versatility.
Bergvall is very similar to Szoboszlai at the same age, who played not only as a midfielder at Red Bull Salzburg but also as an attacking player and even as a wide player.
The Swedish international is very versatile in that sense and he can be used in a number of different roles.
Like Szoboszlai, he'd be able to play practically anywhere on the pitch.
This season Bergvall has played both as a left-sided midfielder and as a right-sided midfielder - almost playing as a wing-back. He's also played in a deeper midfield role and as a more advanced midfielder as well.
That's what makes him such a useful player and the ideal squad option. At 20-years-old he could improve so much still as well.
Obviously, Tottenham will be reluctant to let him go. However, at this point after the season they've had they might have to resign themselves to a sale.
