Liverpool will demand a fee of around £35million to sell Curtis Jones this summer, amid interest from Inter Milan.
Inter Milan have gone public in their interest in signing Jones, following initial enquiries in January.
The club's sporting director, Piero Ausilio, confirmed the club's pursuit of the England midfielder on Sunday: “Curtis Jones, we are paying attention to him. We didn’t hide. We understand what the developments will be.”
According toThe Athletic, Liverpool do not want to sell Jones. The 25-year-old is the only Scouser in the club's first-team squad, while the Reds view Jones as a versatile asset with room for further improvement. Jones deputised regularly at right-back last season during Liverpool's injury issues.
However, Liverpool will reluctantly accept a sale if a suitable bid arrives and Jones expresses the desire to leave.
The midfielder has just 12 months to run on his contract, and has been frustrated with an inability to nail down a regular role.
At 25, he is yet to start more than 20Premier League games in a season for the club. Last week, Liverpool teammate Federico Chiesa confirmed that Jones had asked him about life in Italy, amid transfer interest from Serie A.
Liverpool will demand a fee of around £35million for Jones, who has previously received enquiries from Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.
